Crystal Mine Misc.[]
- The Crystal Mine is a 5x5 square building.
- Maximum of 6 Crystal Mines.
A Crystal Mine upgrade has a payback cost in the sense that you spend Gold and Crystal as well as time (while it is upgrading, it is not making Crystal). Furthermore, building a Crystal Mine has similar invested costs. We calculate the TrueCost of a Crystal Mine build/upgrade by taking its Gold cost(dividing by 5 for Gold to Crystal value ratio) + its Crystal cost + its downtime Crystal cost. Example: Upgrading a level 1 mine is GoldCost(12,000/5=2,400)+CrystalCost(600)+TimeCost(120) = TrueCost(1,320). Therefore the first upgrade has a Crystal cost to you of 1,320. Then assuming you can use a Crystal Mine non-stop at 1 hour sets(highly unlikely), your increased Crystal revenue produced is 10 per hour. So in order to be paid back the cost to you, it will take 132 hours of peak mining or 5.5 days of non stop hourly mining. The following chart breaks down the TrueCost and Hours needed for all level of upgrades:
Upgrade Level | Gold Cost in Crystal | Crystal Cost in Crystal | Time Cost in Crystal | Total Cost in Crystal |
Crystal Increase Peak Hour |
Peak Break Even Hours |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 2,400 | 0 | 0 | 2,400 | 60 | 40 Hours or 1.7 Days |
2 | 600 | 600 | 120 | 1,320 | 10 | 132 Hours or 5.5 Days |
3 | 1,000 | 1,000 | 240 | 2,240 | 10 | 224 Hours or 9.3 Days |
4 | 1,600 | 1,600 | 480 | 3,680 | 10 | 368 Hours or 15.3 Days |
5 | 2,400 | 2,400 | 720 | 5,520 | 10 | 552 Hours or 23 Days |
These are peak hours for paying back the TrueCost. Anything less than 1 hour mining cycles causes the payback for a mine or upgrades to be even more severe. It should be noted that the mines will payback upgrades and costs concurrently. In otherwords, if you make 2 Upgrades at the same time, both upgrades are being paid back at the same time. So if a level 30 player built a Mine and upgraded it straight to level 5, it would be paid off completely in a total of 30 days of non-stop 1 hour mining. As a general average, based on typical power mining (1 hour reps for most of a day + 9 hour rep while player sleeps) the Building of a Mine takes 2 days before it is paid back, Upgrade to level 2 takes 1 week, Upgrade to level 3 takes 2 weeks, Upgrade to level 4 takes 4 weeks and Upgrade to level 5 takes 6 weeks. A casual player, who 1 hour reps while playing, does a 9 hour rep while working and a 9 hour rep while sleeping can expect an additional 1-2 weeks across the board respectively.
